PowerTrain Unveils Redesigned Callisto LMS with New AI, Analytics, Integration, and Immersive Learning Capabilities

Modernized learner and administrator experiences pair with practical AI tools, expanded reporting, new integrations, immersive learning, and workforce readiness capabilities

Hyattsville, MD — October 8, 2026 — PowerTrain, Inc., a provider of learning, workforce development, and technology solutions, today announced a major evolution of Callisto, its secure, highly customizable enterprise learning management system. The latest release introduces a redesigned user experience alongside new artificial intelligence capabilities, expanded reporting and analytics, Microsoft Teams and LinkedIn Learning integrations, and support for immersive 3D and VR-based training.

The updates are designed to make Callisto easier to use for learners, reduce administrative effort, and give organizations greater visibility into learning activity, performance, and workforce readiness.

“Organizations need learning technology that can adapt to the way they actually operate,” said Lisa Cox, CEO of PowerTrain. “With this evolution of Callisto, we’ve focused on making the platform more intuitive, giving administrators better tools and insights, and introducing AI where it can meaningfully reduce workload and improve the quality of learning.”

A redesigned experience for learners and administrators

Callisto’s refreshed interface modernizes both learner and administrative workflows. Redesigned dashboards bring progress, mandatory training, course registration, and frequently used actions to the surface, while simplified navigation helps users reach the information they need with fewer distractions.

The updated course catalog provides a more visual, card-based browsing experience, while redesigned course pages organize learning activities and supporting resources into a cleaner, more accessible format.

Administrators also benefit from a reworked system administration experience that organizes common tasks around day-to-day workflows rather than a dense configuration structure. Enhanced navigation creates smoother page transitions while preserving the underlying functionality, permissions, and flexibility organizations rely on.

Practical AI designed to reduce administrative workload

Callisto’s new AI-assisted capabilities focus on practical applications for course quality, administration, and learner support. New functionality includes:

  • Tagging Suggestions, which analyze new content and recommend tags and related materials to improve content association.
  • Quiz Fairness Analysis, designed to identify potentially problematic assessment questions and help instructors evaluate alignment between quizzes and course material.
  • Find Struggling People, which helps identify learners who may be having difficulty so instructors can intervene earlier.
  • Generate Quiz Questions, which creates assessment questions based on uploaded course content.
  • Engagement Forum Posts, which generates conversational prompts designed to encourage learner participation.
  • Course Information Gap Analysis, which identifies potential gaps in course material before publication.

Rather than positioning AI as a replacement for instructors or administrators, Callisto uses it to reduce repetitive work, strengthen course quality, and surface information that can help people make better-informed decisions.

More flexible reporting and analytics

Callisto’s expanded reporting environment gives administrators new ways to turn learning data into usable information. Configurable dashboards can surface metrics such as course completions, active users, enrollments, learner activity, assessment data, and competency information through charts, KPI summaries, and other visualizations.

A new visualization library and enhanced report-building tools give organizations greater flexibility to explore learning data and tailor reporting to different audiences. Administrators can more easily identify trends, compare results across time periods, and move from high-level summaries into more detailed information.

A more connected learning ecosystem

The latest Callisto enhancements expand how the LMS connects with other learning and workplace technologies.

A new Microsoft Teams integration helps organizations coordinate scheduled training by connecting learning events with learners’ calendars and Teams-based information.

Callisto’s LinkedIn Learning integration enables organizations to incorporate a catalog of more than 26,000 courses and 1,300 curated learning pathways into their learning environment, expanding available content without requiring learners to navigate disconnected systems.

Callisto also supports 3D and VR-based training with SCORM and xAPI reporting, allowing organizations to incorporate immersive learning experiences while maintaining centralized tracking and reporting.

PowerTrain is also expanding the connection between learning and workforce performance through Fit for Duty, its biometrics-based workforce readiness solution. Fit for Duty helps organizations move beyond training completion as the sole measure of preparedness by bringing together learning, readiness, and performance-related information to provide a more complete view of whether employees are prepared to perform their work safely and effectively.

Secure and customizable by design

The expanded functionality builds on the qualities that have long defined Callisto: security, flexibility, and hands-on support.

Callisto can be configured and extended around an organization’s specific requirements, including custom roles and permissions, workflows, dashboards, reporting, integrations, branding, competencies, learning plans, registration processes, and specialized functionality.

Callisto is built on a proven open-source learning technology foundation, while PowerTrain extends and customizes the platform to support complex enterprise, government, and specialized workforce requirements.

For organizations with stringent security requirements, PowerTrain offers Callisto environments supporting FedRAMP Moderate, GovRAMP, and DISA Impact Level 4 (IL4) requirements.

PowerTrain also supports Callisto clients beyond implementation, providing configuration, integration, administration, troubleshooting, training, custom development, and ongoing platform optimization.
