Enduring Federal data support

In 1998, BODO turned to PowerTrain for assistance with managing, analyzing, and reporting on retirement data from across the entire Federal government.

PowerTrain imports BODO’s datasheets into our custom-designed database to analyze and report on error rates, classifications, and similar aspects. Reports are developed for nearly 250 components and sub-components which include details about specific cases in the respective entity.

Over the years, BODO has turned to PowerTrain for additional needs, including hosting various systems, maintaining online tools, and updating, implementing, and reporting on surveys.

Survey deployment and analytics

Most recently, PowerTrain updated and implemented a Training Survey Online Assessment tool. Tasks included:

  • Validating the current survey strategy.
  • Developing strategies for increased survey response rates.
  • Researching options to relay reminder emails
  • Reviewing and modifying survey items for enhanced clarity.
  • Collaborating with BODO on functionality and specification issues.
  • Conducting SME Beta Testing and survey adjustment.
  • Administering the survey, analyzing the data, and delivering comprehensive reports on survey participation and results.

Reporting efforts streamlined and virtual events supported

For over 20 years, PowerTrain’s solution seamlessly imports retirement data from diverse Federal government sources, conducts sophisticated statistical analyses, and delivers tailored Retirement Reporting Analysis and Summary Reports twice a month, alongside the Disability Reporting Analysis and Summary Reports.

BODO’s Event Registration System facilitates access to training and events for up to 5,000 accounts and 250 simultaneous users across the Federal government. PowerTrain seamlessly provides hosting, help desk, and technical support services tailored to BODO’s unique needs.

Refining Federal employees’ retirement plans

PowerTrain diligently built, maintains, and enhances BODO’s Ballpark Estimator tool, ensuring its accuracy and relevance by regularly updating IRS and Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) limits and assumptions. This essential tool with hundreds of thousands of users serves as a savings goal worksheet for Federal employees, enabling them to automatically calculate future retirement benefits and TSP account balances.

PowerTrain’s technical support includes incorporating the latest contribution limits and financial constants, implementing updates or edits as requested by BODO, and ensuring an updated interface. Additionally, PowerTrain ensures the correct calculation and implementation of the latest COLAs parameters, presenting a refined Ballpark Estimator tool with new features and functions for public access.
